Job Description
My client is a leader in the field of custom prosthetics, a kind of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) service provider.  They are essentially a prominent medical device fabricator and technology innovator as well as a healthcare treatment company.  They have several clinics all over the United States, and have been in business for 20 years.  They are a well-established and growing healthcare provider.  They are presently seeking a new Business Development Manager to cover their Pacific Northwest territory.

This job is an exciting opportunity for a proactively minded sales professional with significant DME service sales experience and a track record of building long-term business relationships to expand an existing sales territory.  The company is a service oriented business that caters to hospitals, trauma centers, orthopedic doctors, rehabilitation centers, and nursing homes to find its end-user customers / patients.  The company utilizes a referral based revenue generation business model.  Similar DME service oriented businesses include pulmonary treatment centers and equipment suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have at least 3 to 5 years of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) / Healthcare Service sales experience ideally networking with hospitals, doctors, treatment centers, and/or nursing homes.
    • Any experience in the O&P (prosthetics) industry would be a huge plus.
    • Will not consider any experience selling commodity based products like Pharmaceuticals.
  • Must be good at relationship building with customers.
  • Must be a proactive self-starter.  Essentially a Do-it-Yourselfer.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision on complicated and multi-pronged projects.
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 30% or more; Mostly by car.  Majority of territory is in OR, but can prospect in WA & Northern CA if the opportunity presents itself.
  • A BS Degree or MBA is preferable, but neither is required.
  • Must have good computer skills - Knowledge with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) type of software is required.
COMPENSATION:
Base Salary: $55K to $65K + Quarterly Performance Bonus, which is open ended.  It has averaged between $10K to $30K annually.
